Friday afternoon my 1999 Ford Crown Victoria was driven 140 miles from San Jose to Sacramento. Saturday morning after warming up the engine it then began to shake and misfire. I made an online appointment at STANDARD AUTO CARE for 9 AM Monday morning. I was hoping to leave Sacramento and drive home to San Jose Monday after this car was repaired. The “Check Engine” light was on and it was tested having a code of P0307 indicating misfire of cylinder #7. At a previous service elsewhere both valve cover gaskets had been replaced coating the top of the engine with oil, soaking this old #7 spark plug and shorting out its coil. After cleaning of the engine all 8 spark plugs and coil boots were replaced new. #7 ignition coil was replaced. The throttle body was also cleaned and fuel injection cleaner was added into the gas tank. In record time at 1:30 PM this Crown Victoria repair was completed and it was ready to go! [I had previously stopped by the Sacramento service department of DOWNTOWN FORD and was told no service was available until after 3 days!] I was very thankful that STANDARD AUTO CARE completed the needed repair on Monday. It now runs GREAT and I returned to San Jose late Monday evening.
